SUGARLOAFERS WALKING CLUB

YOGA ONE
Learn easy poses to improve flexibility, strength and bring poise to the body. Stretching, breathing practices and deep relaxation techniques will be shown. This is a coed class. Please bring a towel or yoga mat to the class and wear comfortable clothing. Fee: $96.00 or drop-ins are welcome at $15 per class. Notice! There will not be a Winter Session.


YOGA FOR SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Therapeutic class created for pe experiencing debilitating, degenerative and difficult conditions such as: fibromyalgia, back and neck issues, chronic fatigue, auto-immune disorders (lupus, multiple sclerosis), arthritis, coronary conditions, diabetes and cancer. Small class, highly personalized attention, individual modifications to traditional yoga poses.


MARTIAL ARTS & SELF DEFENSE
Learn to defend yourself while ng fun. Classes will include proper breathing and posture, strenghtening and flexibility exercises, and learning to fall safely. Simple principles of self-defense will be taught which can be used in any situation. Classes are based on Systema, a Russian martial art. Both men and women are welcome and no experience is necessary. No equipment or uniform needed. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.


BEGINNING T'AI CHI
This Chinese co-ed exercise pro will help improve balance and coordination, flexibility and range of motion, and strength. Fee: $124. per person or drop-ins are welcome at $12 per class.


STRETCHING AND BODY ALIGNMENT
This class introduces a varietystretching and body alignment techniques. Students will learn basic stretching exercises from Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Self help techniques from CranioSacral and Alexander massage therapies will be shown also. This class is ideal for anyone recovering from injuries or for people who just want to improve flexibility. Please bring a mat and wear comfortable clothing. Fee: $124. per person or drop-ins are welcome at $15 per class.


T'AI CHI
This class is for people who haompleted at least one session of Beginning T'ai Chi, another T'ai Chi program or those who have trained in other movements, such as dance or martial arts. Fee: $134 per person or drop-ins are welcome at $15 per class.


YOGA STRETCH
Anyone can take this class. Thiass incorporates power yoga, a strength-orientated paractice with intese stretching. It involves synchronzing the breath with a prgressive series of movements. You will also learn some Pilates techniques. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind. Please bring your own mat. Location: Germantown SoccerPlex Center, 18031 Central Park Circle, Boyds, Md. 20841 Fee: $75 per session


CARDIO-CORE BLAST
Strength. Stability. Flexibilitndurance. A strong and flexible core provides a sound foundation for all body strength. A vigorous hour of core training combined with cardio intervals for 8 weeks that shows how to develope the body's most important source of energy and support - its core muscle groups. Taught by a NSPA certified instructor. Please bring a mat for the floor.


SENIOR ADULT EXERCISE CLASS
This class is a good workout for anyone who wants to keep fit and stay limber, increase flexibility and improve cardiovascular conditioning. The class is excellent for helping eas pain caused by arthritis. To enroll, contact Herb Snyder at 301-649-1606. Fee:$35 for 10 classes. Temple Emanuel, 1010 Connecticut Avenue, Kensington, MD. Classes are ongoing, 10-11 a.m. Fee: $35 for 10 classes.
